Oriental Ramen Riff

Serves 4 as a party appetizer or 1 for a savage.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pkg – Oriental flavor Ramen
  • 1 can – Premium tinned octopus
  • 4 ea slices – Bacon
  • 360g – Water
  • 30g – Non-dairy creamer
  • 3 ea slices – American cheese
  • 3 ea Scallions – Chopped
  • 4 ea Eggs – Scrambled

TOPPERS

  • Kewpie Mayonnaise
  • Sriracha
  • 3 ea scallions – Cut into batons
  • 1 ea sheet- Nori – Julienned
  • As much as you want – Bonito flakes
  • 1ea Romaine heart – Cut into boats

DIRECTIONS

Heat a 10-12 inch non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and add oil or cooking spray.
Brown and crisp up 4 pieces bacon. (Or cook til loose and sloppy.)
Transfer bacon to paper towel, allow to cool, roughly chop and set aside.
Let bacon grease remain in pan and set aside.

In a medium-sized sauce pan bring water to a boil.
Remove Oriental seasoning pouch from Oriental Ramen pack and add to water.
Shake in 30g non-dairy creamer.
Add Oriental Ramen and cook until al dente.
Add 3 slices of American Cheese .
Mix until cheese is melted and creamy.
Transfer to bowl.
Top with chopped scallion batons.

Oriental Mac n’ Cheese

as is or…

Add beaten eggs and drained chopped octopus to “Cheesey Oriental Noodle Mixture” and mix well to incorporate.
Heat up Non-stick skillet with remaining bacon grease over medium-high heat.
Carefully pour entire “Eggy-Cheesey-Oriental-Pus-y- Mixture” into hot skillet.
Shake pan and spread to distribute evenly.
Cover with lid and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom and loosen from pan.
Using the lid, carefully flip your omelette over and slide back in the pan.
Continue to brown the other side of the omelette.
Once golden brown on both sides, transfer to a large bowl.
